Print Making

Many of the oil paintings shown in the galleries are available as limited edition archive quality prints. Those from my recent work as artist in residence at Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station are printed on Canson Infinity Edition Etching Rag, which is a 100% cotton Fine Art paper. This museum-grade paper produces deep blacks, excellent image sharpness, optimum colour graduation. Its unique slight grain makes it ideal for printing detailed work. Archive quality inks are also used for the production of the prints.

My prints are available both framed and unframed, and can be produced in sizes up to A2. Unframed prints will be mounted.

Go to Industrial Gallery to see larger images. Other prints from the Ratcliffe-on-Soar series will be available in the near future.

There is also a collection of prints made from my sketchbooks of people working at Ratcliffe. These figures are all in the control room.

Other Printing Techniques

I have also made both collagraph and lithographic prints during my earlier work, before taking up the residency at Ratcliffe..

These collagraphs were created from quick sketches made at various life sessions, and cut from card and marked using a stylus to make the plates.

Lithographic  printing works well for charcoal or pen and ink sketches. These prints of dancers were made by combining three pen drawings into one image.

The prints of horses shown below were made from large charcoal drawings. The originals were photographed and plates were made on a laser printer. The plates were then inked up and printed on my small intaglio press.
